Welcome to the Clyde Economic Development Corporation.

The Clyde Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) was formed in October, 1995, after the passage of a half cent sales tax increase for economic development.  Our mission is to retain, expand, and bring in new businesses for the benefit of Clyde, Texas.

The CEDC is guided by a seven-member Board of Directors.  These individuals oversee expenditures of $70,000 in annual revenues.  These revenues can be used for:

  • land purchase or lease
  • building purchase or lease
  • construction or rehabilitation
  • capital equipment purchases
  • infrastructure improvements
  • employee training
  • relocation and moving expenses
  • loans and loan guarantees
  • grants
  • reimbursement of development and other related fees

The main criteria used in evaluating business development by the Board are job creation, annual payroll, increased tax base, and capital investment.   However, each client is further evaluated on its own merit with job types and payroll being the most important.
