Location
- Texas Midwest Clyde is
located near the center of Texas that provides
easy access to all parts of the State along with
both east and west coasts as well as the new
markets in Mexico. The Texas Midwest
Community encompasses a 22-county area that works
together for tourism and business development of
the region.
- Highways Clyde is located
10 minutes driving time east of Abilene on
Interstate 20 that provides east/west
access. Other major highways that are
easily accessible that provide north/south access
are U.S. Hwy 283 being four miles east and U.S.
Hwys 277 and 83 being fifteen miles to the west.
- Transportation We are
served by the Abilene Regional Airport, located
12 miles west of the City. American
Eagle offers daily service to Dallas/Fort
Worth on both SAAB 340 and Regional Jets. Continental Express
offers 3 flights per day to Houston. Clyde
is on the mainline of the Union Pacific Railroad
with rail service provided out of Abilene as is
bus service provided by Greyhound Bus Lines.
- Texas Forts Trail Clyde is
surrounded by a 650-mile route connecting Fort
Phantom Hill, Fort Griffin, Fort Belknap, Fort
Richardson, Fort McKavett, Fort Mason, Fort
Concho, and Fort Chadbourne. Follow the
trail for a memorable trip with many reasons for
wanting to come back and visit again.
- Mileage Clyde is located 12
miles east of Abilene, 130 miles west of Fort
Worth, 150 miles south of Wichita Falls and 220
miles north of Austin. Major markets within
a one-day driving radius include Dallas, Lubbock,
Houston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, El Paso, and
the Mexican border.
